Newco LCD-2 Bag-in-Box Coffee Setup Guide

Connect and prime your Christopher Bean Coffee concentrate in just a few minutes.

Before you begin: This guide assumes your Newco LCD-2 is already connected to water and power and has been programmed for the correct coffee-to-water ratio. For plumbing, electrical installation or machine programming, contact a qualified service technician.

Phase 1 / 5

Prepare the Coffee Box

Phase 2 / 5

Connect the Coffee Line

01
Line up the dispenser’s black BIB connector with the white fitment on the coffee box.
02
Gently screw the connector onto the fitment using only your fingers and thumb.
03
Tighten until the connector is seated and snug.

Important:

Do not use tools and do not overtighten the connector.

Newco’s instructions specifically call for hand-tightening the connector to prevent damage.

Phase 3 / 5

Load the Coffee Box

Place the connected coffee box inside the machine.

01
The box on the left connects to Pump 1
02
The box on the right connects to Pump 2

Arrange the tubing in a smooth loop.

Make sure the tubing is not twisted, pinched or kinked when the machine door is closed.

Phase 4 / 5

Prime the Coffee Pump

Place a pitcher or large cup beneath the dispensing nozzle.

Open the machine door and locate the small three-button control panel.

To enter Prime Mode

01
Press the right-hand Pump 2 / Prime button once
02
The display will enter the pump-priming mode.

Prime Pump 1

03
Press and hold the left-hand Pump 1 button.
04
Continue holding until coffee concentrate flows in a steady stream from the dispensing nozzle
05
Release the button.

Prime Pump 2

06
Press the center Enter button to move to Pump 2.
07
Press and hold the right-hand Pump 2 button until concentrate flows in a steady stream.
08
Release the button.
09
Press Enter until three dashes appear on the display.

The machine is now back in normal operating mode.

Using only one coffee box? Prime only the pump connected to your coffee box. Do not run an unused pump dry; press Enter to advance past it and exit Prime Mode.

These priming steps follow Newco’s current LCD-2 operating manual.

Phase 5 / 5

Test the Dispenser

01
Dispense a small cup of coffee.
02
The flow should be smooth and consistent, without excessive air or sputtering.
03
If the coffee sputters or appears unusually weak, repeat the priming process for a few more seconds.
04
Discard the coffee used during priming and testing.

You’re Ready to Serve

Once the coffee is flowing smoothly, close the machine door and begin normal use.

Quick Troubleshooting

No coffee is dispensing

Check that:

.
The small plastic insert was removed from the BIB fitment
.
The black connector is completely attached
.
The tubing is not pinched or kinked
.
The correct pump was primed
.
The coffee box is not empty

Coffee is sputtering

There may still be air in the product line. Repeat the priming process until the flow becomes steady.

Coffee is too weak or too strong

First, make sure the pump is fully primed. If the problem continues, the dispenser’s coffee-to-water ratio may need to be adjusted.

Contact Christopher Bean Coffee before changing the machine programming.

The connector is leaking

Stop using the machine and disconnect the coffee box.

Check that the connector is straight and properly threaded, then reconnect it by hand. Do not use pliers or other tools.
