Coffee and Weight Loss: How To Slim Down With Black Coffee

Posted by Stephen Berke on Jul 19th 2018

Want to simplify your fitness routine? Read on to know how black coffee can actually help you lose weight.

Coffee lovers have recently been raising their cups and probably eyebrows after the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry confirmed that coffee contains a soluble fiber which lowers cholesterol levels.

However, this is just a glimpse into the growing stream of positive news about coffee. So, if you are a coffee enthusiast or someone struggling to keep shape and lose weight, you’re in for even better news.

So, what is the good news?

According to nutritionists, it turns out that a cup of black coffee does not only give you your much-needed shot of energy but also helps you lose your unwanted excess weight. I know this might sound too good to be true to some Thomas’s.

Black coffee helps the body slim down by simply stimulating and boosting the body’s metabolism. By starting your morning with guzzling down a cup of black coffee, you stimulate your body’s metabolic rate and production of heat, also referred to as thermogenesis. This, in turn, results in the burning of more fat within your body.

More so, black coffee also contains Chlorogenic acid, the primary polyphenol in coffee and a great ingredient for weight loss. This acid gradually slows down the rate of carbohydrates absorption while encouraging the breakdown of fats in the body. Putting this into account, obesity and other weight issues will be a thing of the past.

Additionally, according to Sarah Flowers, a seasoned veteran in the Nutrition niche, black coffee aids in the reduction of excessive appetites. “Although it is not necessarily a meal replacement, black coffee stimulates thermogenesis which can cause reduced appetite and basically a lessened urge for a lot of food,” she adds.

As such, this doesn’t mean that you should start guzzling endless cups of coffee every chance you can. As they say, too much of everything is always harmful. In fact, consuming too much black coffee will make the body immune to its associated fat burning benefits.

Thus, the big question now is; how many cups of coffee should you really drink? Well, believe it or not, just one or two cups of coffee a day are enough to keep you moving. Sarah recommends that drinking two cups of coffee in the morning is enough to see the complete metabolism-boosting and weight loss results of black coffee.

What’s more?

According to a report published in the International Journal of Epidemiology, it was discovered that at least around 93,000 black coffee drinkers enjoy a relatively low risk of obesity complications as well as a decreased risk of diabetes.

Even so, always remember that overfilling your coffee with sugar might actually have an equally opposite effect on your weight. This is because hidden calories from added sugar in black coffee not only lead to weight gain but also result in increased levels of insulin. The same applies to other additions like cream and milk. Instead of aiding in weight loss, these do the opposite. So, it’s better to keep your black coffee plain.

Keep enjoying your cup of black coffee every morning to boost your metabolism and reduce your appetite. Talk of simplified fitness!!!
