Craving something sweet in your coffee, but tired of the same old sugar, day in and day out? We all need to shake up our morning routine every now and again, so your first coffee of the day is a great place to start.
There are plenty of sweet alternatives to sugar to try out to give your coffee an extra shot of flavor. And best of all—most of these are probably already tucked away in your pantry!
1. Chocolate Rush
Sometimes you crave coffee—other times chocolate—but most times, it’s both! We don’t think you should have to pick one over the other, so in times like these, it’s best to mix chocolate in with your favorite roast of Christopher Bean Coffee.
Chop a few pieces of dark or milk chocolate then pour them into a cup of hot coffee. Once the chocolate melts, stir it in for a homemade mocha!
If that’s a little too much chocolate for you in the morning, sprinkle a spoonful of unsweetened cocoa powder over your coffee grounds in your French press before brewing for a hint of chocolate flavor.
2. Flavorful Extracts
Another easy way to sweeten up your perfect cup of coffee is to add a splash of sweet, flavored extracts.
A little of these baking essentials goes a long way, and you probably already have bottles of vanilla, peppermint, or almond extract sitting in your kitchen cabinets. It’s time to put them to good use!
3. Sweet Spices
Last but not least, there are a number of common spices that you can add to your coffee for a delicate, sweet flavor. Sprinkle ground cinnamon, cardamom, or pumpkin spice on your coffee, or even add a cinnamon stick to your coffee grounds before brewing. Either way—you can spice up your morning without adding a spoonful of sugar.
