Costa Rica Tarrazu
Hailing from the highlands of Costa Rica’s Tarrazu region, Christopher Bean’s Costa Rica Tarrazu is a “strictly hard bean” coffee that has an unadulterated coffee flavor that is clean, mild, and wonderfully acidic. Right off the grinder, this coffee is fragrant with the fresh smell of apricots and peaches. While mild roasts are known to have a delicate sweetness likened to gingersnap cookies, darker roasts on the other hand boast of a little more depth and spice both in aroma and flavor. Light and delicious, many connoisseurs dub it “the perfect cup to start your morning with”.
For many years, the trend in Costa Rica has been to produce massive amounts of coffee, not paying particular attention to quality. This led to a satisfactory produce that lacked distinction. Nevertheless, smaller farms soon began to refine their techniques and took advantage of their ideal location and weather to produce fine-tasting coffee.
